Hello List, I'm attempting to use NTLM authentication with Safari and Firefox on Mac OS X 10.4-10.6. So far, I have been unsuccessful in my attempts. It seems to be working perfectly on my windows clients. Anybody get NTLM working on either browser? Also, does anybody know of a way to change the settings for Firefox across all my macs so they use the 'Automatically Discover Proxy Settings' setting?
I would much rather have this done across our school than having to go around and making this change by hand. Perhaps someone knows where Firefox holds it's proxy settings.plist? Thanks for any information. --Matt Ross Ephrata School District _____________________________________________________ MacEnterprise, Inc Subscription Options and Archives Perbix, Michael, 9:35 น.

Safari can not do NTLM on it's own, in my experience. The proxy system in OSX does not work with NTLM. So, anything that uses OSX proxy settings, you are SOL on that front. Firefox can support NTLM if you make changes to the configuration. As long as you are logged in with a Kerberized account (for example, AD integration) then Firefox can answer NTLM.

As far as the proxy settings goes.you can add a add-on called system proxy that make Firefox configured for how you have OSX configured. That works very well.especially if you use 'locations' on the OSX side to turn proxies on and off. -Mike _________________________________________ Lower Merion School District Network Technician Matthew W.
