Also SFTP and FTPS are poorly supported/implemented by third parties and generally require more know-how to set up therefore It would not be in Google's best interests to allow third party FTPS/SFTP clients and actually create their own simple drag-and-drop FTPS/SFTP client. In fact while they are at it they might as well use a more efficient protocol altogether and rather than a separate application integrate it directly with Explorer/Finder. They did do that already.
